Commitment and the Work of Marriage

The Work of Marriage

Yes, the WORK of marriage. When we first find that special someone, they set our soul on fire, and we feel blissfully whole. We want to capture that love feeling in a bubble and make it last forever. Yet life intrudes, and people change. No one tells us that we are supposed to change. There is no manual for life and love yet we change and learn and grow without realizing it.

Embracing Anxiety: Transforming Life’s Challenges into Opportunities for Growth

In this life, we all face moments that challenge our sense of self-reliance and autonomy. When we first looked up at the skies and felt alone, when we lose our beloved family member, when our hearts have been broken, and when we are traumatized, when we run out of options, and when we are physically in pain, we can pray in our own way. Spirituality is a personal experience and one which is documented as one of the seven protective factors for a deeply fulfilling life. So today, pray! Pray with song, with dance, with silence, with poetry. Pray with all the beautiful things that remind you of your divine humanity and how much you mean to others and yourself. Self-love is a form of prayer; you deserve to love yourself and be loved for yourself now.

Let’s survive together, shall we?

Why We Need Anger Management in College Basketball

Anger Management: The Cost of Anger in Sports

Anger, when not managed properly, can be destructive, particularly in a team setting where cohesion and mutual respect are paramount. The incident at Rutgers University underscores a critical issue: the use of demeaning and abusive tactics under the guise of motivation. Such behavior not only tarnishes the sport and the institutions involved but also inflicts deep psychological wounds on the athletes, who look to their coaches for guidance and support, not fear and intimidation. Also, please remember, that is someone’s child you are screaming on.
