Helping Change Happen One Day At A Time.
For three decades, our work has been guided by one belief: with the right support, people don't just cope. They rebuild, replenish, and thrive. That belief built this practice, and you can feel it in every session we hold.
Holistic Behavioral Solutions pairs person-centered therapy with results-driven treatment planning, because compassion and progress belong in the same room.
Our clients consistently notice meaningful improvements in emotional well-being, healthier relationships, and greater life satisfaction. That doesn't happen by accident. It happens because every treatment plan starts with who you actually are: your strengths, your family system, your culture, your goals. Then it builds forward from there.
Over the years, we've had the privilege of guiding countless individuals through transformative change. Regaining control. Restoring stability. Growing into the version of themselves they were working toward all along. Our team's role is to equip you with the tools and support that make that change last.
HBS didn't appear overnight. It was built session by session, family by family, across thirty years of clinical work in this state.
Our story begins at Rutgers University and University Behavioral Health Care, where our founder began interning and built her expertise as an acute specialist in screening and inpatient treatment.
She advanced to clinician with the Child Crisis Inpatient Screening Unit and the Regional Response Unit, spending thirteen years serving children and families in their most acute moments. That is where the HBS standard of care was forged.
HBS began providing Intensive In-Community (IIC) services through New Jersey's System of Care, bringing clinical support directly into the homes and communities of children and families across the state.
The Holistic House & Community Healing Foundation was founded to carry the message of mental health and wellness beyond the therapy room and into mentoring, workforce development, and community healing.
From our office at 200 West State Street in Trenton, our staff of nine clinicians and certified behavioral assistants serves individuals, couples, and families across Mercer County and New Jersey, in person and by telehealth.
Founder & Clinical Director
Tamara is the founder and director of Holistic Behavioral Solutions and the Holistic House & Community Healing Foundation. Her clinical roots run through Rutgers University and University Behavioral Health Care, where she began interning in 1996 and worked as an acute specialist in screening and inpatient treatment. In 2000, she advanced to clinician with the Child Crisis Inpatient Screening Unit and the Regional Response Unit, where she served for thirteen years.
Those years in crisis care taught her something that still shapes this practice: the people carrying the most are often the ones no one thinks to check on. For thirty years, she has specialized in acute and brief treatment with clients and families who are peak performers, neurodivergent, or both. People whose strengths and struggles are often two sides of the same coin, and who deserve care sophisticated enough to see both.
In 2005, she brought HBS into New Jersey's System of Care as an Intensive In-Community provider. In 2012, she founded HHCF to amplify the message of mental health and wellness for all, extending the work beyond the clinical setting and into the community itself.
"Change doesn't require you to become someone else. It asks you to become more fully who you already are, one day at a time."
Behind every treatment plan is a clinician who knows your name, knows your story, and shows up prepared. Meet the team you'll come to trust.

Warmth without direction stalls. Direction without warmth breaks trust. Our model holds both, and that's why it works.
Treatment starts with your story, strengths, and goals, not a template. You set the direction; we bring the clinical expertise to get you there.
Every plan has a destination. We define what progress looks like together, track it honestly, and adjust until the change you want becomes the change you live.
Our work goes beyond symptom relief. We help restore the energy, confidence, and connection that let you not just recover, but thrive.
Wellness shouldn't stop at the office door. Founded in 2012, HHCF is our nonprofit sister organization, dedicated to youth mentoring, workforce development, and community healing throughout Mercer County. It's how we amplify the message of mental health and wellness for all.
Whether you're reaching out for yourself, your child, your relationship, or your family, the next step is simpler than you think. And you don't take it alone.
