Book Your Online Therapy Session with Confidence

Embarking on your journey to mental wellness is a significant step, and choosing online therapy offers flexibility and accessibility to quality care from the comfort of your home. Before you book your online session, it’s essential to understand the telemedicine informed consent, a critical aspect of your therapy experience that ensures your rights, privacy, and security are protected throughout the process.

Every fulfilled person has moments of doubt where they can benefit from a safe and neutral space to share their emotion. We can all use a slice of perspective from time to time.  We encourage you to utilize our telehealth sessions for a quick refresher.

What is Telemedicine Informed Consent?

Telemedicine informed consent is an agreement that outlines the parameters, benefits, and potential limitations of receiving therapy through online platforms. It ensures that you are fully informed about the nature of online counseling, confidentiality protocols, emergency procedures, and the use of technology, allowing you to make a well-informed decision about your mental health care.

Navigating Our Telemedicine Policies

Security and Privacy: Our platform adheres to strict confidentiality and data protection standards, ensuring your personal information and therapy sessions are secure. Learn more about our encryption methods and privacy policies designed to safeguard your mental wellness journey.

Technology Requirements: Online therapy requires a stable internet connection and compatible devices. Our policy page provides detailed information on the technical prerequisites for your sessions, ensuring a smooth and uninterrupted therapy experience.

Emergency Protocols: While online therapy offers many benefits, it’s crucial to understand the procedures in place for managing emergencies or crises that may arise during a session. Our informed consent document outlines how such situations are addressed to ensure your safety and well-being. Online therapy is not appropriate for those with acute psychiatric illnesses. Individuals in acute psychiatric distress are referred to their local emergency room or screening center to assess for the appropriate level of care.

Therapist Qualifications: Rest assured that our therapists are licensed professionals trained in delivering online mental health services. The informed consent agreement includes details about their qualifications and the standards of care you can expect.

Session Guidelines: To maximize the effectiveness of your online therapy, our consent form includes guidelines on creating a conducive environment for your sessions, such as choosing a private, quiet space and minimizing distractions. All clients must be registered through our EHR system before our work can begin.

Online Counseling: Making an Informed Decision

Understanding the telemedicine informed consent is integral to a positive and effective online therapy experience. We encourage you to review this information carefully on our policy page before booking your session. This ensures that you are well informed about the process, your rights, and how we strive to provide you with the best possible care in an online setting.

Online therapy eliminates geographic restraints, making enforcing legal and ethical codes difficult. Therapists can treat clients anywhere in the world, and many states have different licensing requirements and treatment guidelines. Your therapist is licensed in New Jersey and adheres to NBCC guidelines and ethical requirements. These guidelines are outlined in our informed consent documents.

Telehealth: Ready to Begin?

Once you’re familiar with the telemedicine informed consent and feel comfortable proceeding, booking your online therapy session is just a few clicks away. Embrace the convenience and effectiveness of online counseling, and take a proactive step towards achieving mental wellness and balance in your life.

There may be concerns about confidentiality, privacy, and technology. Sessions are delivered via doxy, and occasionally sessions may get dropped. If this happens, we will keep trying until we connect and work through any glitches. Privacy cannot be guaranteed unless you are in our office. Please note that online sessions are for your convenience, and we would like you to ensure privacy on your end.

Online therapy provides accessibility to individuals who are disabled or housebound, those who have a specialty niche such as addictions or poly, or those who prefer the privacy of their home.

Embark on Your Online Therapy Journey: With a clear understanding of telemedicine informed consent, you’re ready to navigate your mental health journey with confidence and security. Book your online session today and experience the transformative power of accessible, professional counseling tailored to your needs.

Please note, online therapy is NOT appropriate for those in severe distress. Distress may include suicidal thoughts, violent thoughts, and psychosis (a detachment or break in reality, hearing voices or seeing things.) Clients in acute distress should visit their closest emergency room immediately. Your local emergency room will screen you and determine an appropriate level of care.

Online counseling can also help clients with social phobia, social anxiety disorder, and symptoms of anxiety. You will learn relaxation techniques and strategies that can help in fighting anxiety attacks. You will find relief from symptoms of stress without leaving your comfort zone. Change happens one day at a time, and we are here to support that change.

The Internet makes mental health more accessible. People may feel comfortable talking to friends and family about healthcare issues but may not feel the same discussing mental health concerns; you have total freedom to discuss your feelings and thoughts with your online therapist.
