National Day of Prayer, Screen Free Week, Spirituality and Mental Wellness

Today is the National Day of Prayer in the USA which encourages us to look inward for answers and renewal. It is also screen free week, community day in some areas and a beautiful spring. The theme in all of this is emotional, physical, environmental and spiritual renewal.

National Day of Prayer; A call for spiritual and emotional renewal

Renewal can take many forms and most importantly it is a time to honor the internal self as it speaks to you. Prayer is more than religion, it is a form of energy work whose practice is as old as man himself.  When we first looked up at the skies and felt alone, when we lost our beloved family member, when our heart has been broken and we are traumatized, when we run out options, when we are physically in pain, we can pray in our own way. Spirituality is a personal experience and one which is documented as one of the seven protective factors for a deeply fulfilling life.

So today pray! Pray with song, with dance, with silence, with poetry. Pray with all the beautiful things that remind you of your divine humanity and how much you mean to others and to yourself. Self-love is a form of prayer and you deserve to love yourself and to be loved for yourself now.

Regardless of religion, prayer is a form of energy work.

Regardless of religion, prayer is a form of energy work.

When we seek to be better versions of ourselves, we can only hear that voice within us in the stillness of prayer and in respect of ourselves now. Enjoy life in all its forms and don't forget to take that breath and pray.
